The first and most important criteria is a stroing rfriendship which has to decelop over time. A good one implies non-judgemental, supportive, there in a pinbch, caring, sharing. Without that, not one relationship can ever work. Sex may be good, but the desire could fade. And even if it doesn't fade, you will not want to be with that perosn becuase you will feel so stepped on.

It's nopt rocket science. Alsom there are relationship seminars offered by The Landkmark Education Corporation which are to me the best ones.

It all depends on the personalities of the two people in the relationship. they have to complement each other in some way. that's not to say that they have to be exactly alike but there has to be some common ground. for ex: a person can be really arrogant , obnoxious, and aggressive but if he or she finds someone who can handle that and not feel overwhelmed or overpowered than it could work. Another aspect to look at is fighting styles . A persons fighting style says alot about how they will interact with their partner and how they will be in an argument. If both people in the relationship have a domineering fighting style than you can bet that their arguments will never really be resolved breeding resentment and anger. Relationships also work well if both partners know what they want in a partner and in life. Another important factor is that both partners still maintain a life outside of the relationship.ie: hobbies, friends etc.) This ensures that you maintain your identity and not feel smothered or overwhelmed by the relationship. Its important to keep the romance and passion alive as well.
hope that helps !

Well it takes two to make it work. Both have to give and take. Both have to work at it, to make sure it stays strong.
