Do people always tell you, that you aren't fat, but you still feel like you are?

To be honest, I'm a bit underweight myself. I was once "fat" though when I was younger, in sixth grade I weighted over 160 pounds. I used to have the worst eating habits. No vegtables, no fruits, none of that healthy stuff, not even Sherbet. I was the worst of thw worst. I decided I didn't want to spend the rest of my life like that so I starting eating right and exercising, after a while I had lost 30 pounds and I just became so much more content with myself. By losing weight I gained confidence. If you don't want to gain weight, try not eating! (that's what I did.) But don't seriously stop eating right away just think about proportions, ask yourself "HOW MUCH AM I EATING?"
After you lose weight don't go back to old eating habits, that is one of the biggest mistakes people make.
So, good luck with your weight!

If people tell you that you aren't fat then you probably aren't. If you are genuinely worried that consult a doctor or dietitian but don't try faddy diets like 'Low Carb' or Atkins. You should be looking at your BMI (Body Mass Index) bearing in mind that muscle weighs more than fat so it's not 'weight' you should be worried about but 'shape'. If you eat sensibly taking the right number of fruit and vegetables each and take moderate exercise than you should be OK. Remember also that the human body is designed to eat meat. Make sure there's some in your diet and fish at least twice a week, one of which should be oily fish.

If you are slightly overweight keep in trim by extra exercise, either 20 minutes a day, like a brisk walk, or 30 minutes three times a week. The exercise should leave you sweating and slightly fatigued. Eventually as you tone up increase the exercise to a comfortable level. Don't ever, ever, ever binge and be sick or starve yourself. Weight loss can be gradual so accept that.

Avoid at all costs 'junk food' and never go into a MacDonalds or KFC again.

Not in the slightest.

I'm thin... Underweight in fact.
And some mornings I wake up and feel so darn thin but also feel like there is nothing I can do about it.

Seriously. I have a turbo-charged metabolism. I have to eat to thermoregulate because just about any food I put in my system gets metabolised and turned into heat at an alarming rate. I used to be told by my Capoeira teacher that if I didn't eat more protein that my body was going to break down my muscles for energy.

And the girl I am hopelessly infatuated with decided to go out with another guy because he is "more comfortable" ... and not just a walking skeleton like me.

You fatties don't know how good you've got it.

Yes, I was so fat that I felt that way. I was about 150 pounds overweight 4 years ago. My clothes were too tight. The 26/28's were way tight. I couldn't move well, hard to breathe. I was embarrassed and yet, I still ate all the junk food that put me in that unhealthy state. I was addicted too food. And lots of it. Yes, I knew exactly the things I needed to do to lose weight and get healthy. I'd tried all the diets and plans. Just couldn't stick to them. I was a failure.
I had gastric bypass surgery 4 years ago. I lost 134 pounds and look and feel great. But, this surgery was stomach surgery, not brain surgery. And...slowly, my old habits are kicking in. my emotional eating. My food addictions to carbs and sugars. I have gained back 10 pounds in the last 6 months. I have to figure out what is going on inside my brain and my emotions that is causing me to have a low self esteem and destroy myself.
I am so healthy now, but I can sabotage it if I keep spiraling down like I used to. There is something I can do about it, and I have to be in control
Wow, thanks for the question, it made me be honest with myself and admit this to a total stranger.

My big fat doctor told me I have to get under 200 lbs. (kinda ironic!) so I've got about 25 lbs to lose and no matter what I try AND no matter what I eat, my weight stays at 222. It's very frustrating. When I was in high school I weighed 270 lbs. and in college I weighed 335 lbs. I lost the weight because I started living on my own and it was rent or food and I had to walk everywhere because I didn't have a vehicle (and smashed up about 4 bikes and had two stolen in 6 years so I gave up on bikes! lol).
I was surprised that according to gov't statistics I am considered obese! I was thinking more along the lines of a little over weight but obese? :( I have to go cry now...... lol
Have a great day!!!
