Hello, my husband just won a case in court to get SSD and desicion was bench on same day of the hearing. We still haven't received the documents to go to SS office and see what benefits he will get. We have been married 3 years and have a child. I just want to know if me as his wife am entitled to receive benefits and my son . I know i read my son will get but nothing about me. Im currently not working because i care for my son who has mild autism. We also have a doubt. He tried working this year and went on a trial period to test his woring skills and earned some income this year. can we file taxes or that would put his SSD case on review? We have waited 2 years for this and he dont wanna risk it.

You can put your son on disability too as he is disabled but that would be a separate case. As far as that goes, why do you not get a job? If you husband is home can't he watch the child? I am sure if you go to work you can get someone in the home to take care of the child. If you are required also to care for your husband you can apply for adult foster care in some cases through the Human Service department. They can pay you to care for him.
As far as the SSD goes I think you are suppose to get something too being his wife. Good luck!

You can have SOME income and still be on SSD. Your son is eligible to apply for SSD also if he is medically diagnosed with autism and it affects his behaviors. You are NOT entitled to anything personally unless you are disabled also. You would have to contact your SSD caseworker and find out what income limit your spouse can make without jeopardizing his SSD.

And in some cases disabled children qualify for some type of social security benefits anyway or at least some aid from the state depending on the household income and things like that
