so many people sell straighteners making out they're as good as GHD but less expensive. They are- for a couple of goes! I went through 3 pairs of recommended straighteners in as many years and ended up getting GHDs cos was sick of buying new ones and have had them for over a year and are still as good as the day I bought them. I always thought the other ones were as good, eventually got the same effect but GHDs are so quick and easy. Don't waste your money on anything else like I did. They're expensive but if I'd have got them in the beginning I'd have saved money! Also check out ebay for lowest prices but make sure they are authentic with hologram on them. Mine came with heat mat which would hopefully prevent burning the house down, though I think the most effective measure would be to turn them off!!!

GHDs are by far the best around. I have tried both brands and I have to say that I will be sticking with my GHDs for a long time coming.
Also, GHD have some great Hot Pink straighteners out at the moment. I'm sure she will love them. Try the GHD website below, they have some other great products.
Maybe you should by the heat resistant matt for them so that she doesn't burn anything in the house.

GHD's, no question. They are the best, quite simple. They are known universally as GHD's. Haven't heard the scare stories, but burning houses down wouldn't happen if they were unplugged after use. Buy your gf GHD's for Crimbo and you'll have an abundance of brownie points to last you all year. Well at least till the day after Boxing Day!!!

I think that you should get her GHD'S!! They are alot more expensive and they work really well! If she has naturally wavey hair then GHD'S are probably the best anyway as they straighten very well! They only burn down your house if you leave them plugged in! So make sure you unplug them!
I thought i would leave you an answer because i am very bored lol!
Hope u and your gf have a gr8 xmas
much luv xxxxx

I'd say GHD are better, i have a 5* rated hairdresser and she uses GHD straighteners. Unfortunately i couldnt tell you the product make/model she has. But i know babyliss are rubbish, as i wasnt impressed with the set i had. I have Remington ones at home now though. If your in the UK, they sell them all in 'Boots' stores.

Any GHD straighteners are the best ones to have. As long as she turns them off after use im sure your hose wont burn down!! So GHD's or the ones i have are decent as well. My straighteners are Nicky Clarke ones. They are good and get the job done just as well. But i must warn you.. GHD's are very cheap!!!

I've personally have got the Babyliss Mirrorshine straighteners which are really good and they get to the same temperature as the GHD's and are slightly cheaper. Try and slyly ask your girlfriend what ones she thinks are better e.g. your mate wants to get some for his girlfriend then you will get her opinion about them.

GHD's are the best, no doubt about it. You have to get her those. Everyone I know who has tried another kind was disappointed- everyone who has ever borrowed my GHD's has gone and bought their own afterwards, chucking out their Babyliss or whatever. Trust me on this. No others compare!!!
I think any straighteners could burn your house down if you accidentally leave them on- buy her a heat protector map if you think there's any chance she might forget to switch them off.

GHD without a question, they are the best hairstraighteners on the market I reckon. I've never had a problem with them but as far as burning peoples houses down I'm sure you will be ok as long as you unplug them after use. Buy them, your girlfriend will be chuffed

Neither! Get her Remington S8100 Wet to Straight Straighteners. They're wet to dry, which means they can be used whether her hair is wet or dry.
I think - but I might be wrong - that they're ionic, which means they condition the hair and make it less frizzy.
Also....
*Thermo-ceramic heat technology - I think this means that the ceramic is good for circulating and retaining heat.
*On/off switch - So you can keep them plugged in but off
*LED indicator light - flashes when it stays at whatever temperature is chosen for more than 30 secs-1 min. It keeps flashing constantly while the straighteners are on and it's at a temperature
*Temperature control - the temperature is adjustable, using a dial wheel on the side.
*3 metre cable - nice and long
*Heat protection bag - for carrying them around
*Vents in the top to allow steam to escape
N.B. If she uses them while her hair's wet, don't be alarmed to hear a 'sissing' noise, it's not her hair cooking!! I use mine instead of a hairdryer when I want straight hair and it's wet.
N.B.2. They're trickier to use if the hair is really wet and should NEVER be used in the bath or shower.
Hope this helps! My mum got mine for £24-30 in.... Superdrug, I think (She got them after taking back some own-brand wet to dry straighteners which stopped working after the first use).
The description is from Great Universal (http://www.greatuniversal.com/AgNet/product.aspx?sid=AQTF8DW0U6D11A4192MBB99WAX32VLD5&brand=GU&prod_id=203515&cm_mmc=FROOGLE-_-na-_-na-_-StraightenerWettoStraightStraighteners), but you can find out the cheapest ones using Froogle on Google.
If her hair is really long or thick, get her S8200 Wet to Straight Remington Straighteners (The paddles are wider than the S8100, which I use as I have short, fine hair)
