I did paint my room a great color, it is the exact same color as a sugar maple leaf in the fall..a beautiful orange/red and I did it simply because I love the color and it makes me feel good to be in that room.

Why? Because it is the most soothing color I've ever experienced. It reminds me of many things, a cool ocean morning when the fog is rolling in off the water or the air after a rainstorm. It's calming, welcoming and peaceful. I used it in my bedroom about a year ago, and can't imagine wanting to ever change it.

merlotw/eggshell borders also chocolate w/forementioned borders seem to be popular in my 2 friends that have bach. in interior dec. but they pad the walls about a1/2inch w/ washed burlap then paint; really cool. Anyhoo Ive painted my girls house in her three major rooms bedroom soft yellow, w/c the "jon" technicolor red! this aggrevates people but also makes you hurry. And living room technicolor blue pussian royal blue it keeps people mellow and subdued. Sage is becoming very pop. w/ peeps out there.LOL

Depends on the room, lighting, personal taste, etc. I like earth tones as decorating is easier.

Sage green. ALmost any color accent goes with it, it's soft but not BLAH, and I love it paired with purple and cream!

magnolia.boring I know but you can then go made with coloured accessories, and change the look as often as you like without incurring more redecorating.

a pearl grey with a thick grey carpet, shinny black fire place and mantel...that's my plan for my painfully white room...next summer.
