If you want a plain flat black and you have dark brown hair by nature, then use Jerome Russel's Colour Shot in Blue Behaviour(I think! Anyway it's the blue semi-permanent one by Jerome Russel)
Used it to try and get blue hair, but ended up with the flat black above.
If you're in Liverpool and are wary of doing it yourself (And you have £75-100 to burn), then go to Voodou on Bold Street and ask for Janine on Sunday or Thursday (She's a star!)

I used "preference by Loreal" soft black and it seemed to have a more natural color and didn't have any side effects. It also comes with a 6 week supply of conditioner that is really great.

Mix dry Amla and coffe with Henna. Or if you are open to coloring, color your hair and use the henna for conditioning, henna will arrest any graying too.
