I have lived in Newcastle all my life, and I have also been on a world tour with my wife. And we both know nothing can mach the individuality it has. The many bridges, casinos, the choice of restaurants is astronomical, the areas around Newcastle are also great, South Shields with it's beach and famous award winning fish and chip shops. It is truly the best place in the world for fish and chips! Anyway, i could go on for ages but if you want but if you want more info, e-mail me at uk_hindd@yahoo.co.uk
Can i also say, that many foreigners move here, not Canada eventhough they accept them the same, so there is something about Newcastle that is great!

I have been living in Newcastle-upon-Tyne for over five years now and moved here for work from the Midlands. I absolutely love this place. It has so much to offer: a buzzing citylife, a beautiful coastline, Scotland is not too far away, Durham, York & Leeds are a short train journey away, and even London & Manchester are only 3hrs or so from here on the ol' choo-choo. Newcastle has museums, art galleries, independent cinema, not to mention all the drinking & eating opportunities! People here take a real pride in their hometown and it shows - the Geordie spirit is very vibrant.

Yes the north east is fantastic and Newcastle is as good a place as any other.
I actually live in middlesborough and wouldn't even think of moving anywere down south

After all all you get down there is cocky arrogant people who are always in a rush.

Its a Fact the north east is known for being a lot more friendly than the south.

Please ignore what "NIPPO" says - you will love Newcastle as in any City there are not some nice areas but you will find it particularly friendly and if you are single then you will not go short (try the Keyside on a Satuday Night!) I think that it has its fair share of unemployment but it is not as bleaK as it sounds. I am not saying Southerners are unfriendly just a little more cautious who they talk to so you should find the North east welcoming - give it a shot what have you got to lose????

Move further north, Newcastle is full of geordies ( scots with their brains taken out) a good turn but they have been on too long.
south of the tyne you have the macams boy what a stupid ignorant people, a macam is someone who has something, he does not want it he will never use it but he won't give it to you.
further south you have the monkey hangers (Hartleypool).
Durham can be quite nice.
