Like they show on tv? My husband said he had to do them when he was in but that was some 40 yrs ago too. Things change over time. That's why I wondered.

My husband is a Sergeant in the Army and he gets up at 0430 (4:30 a.m.) every morning for PT (physical training). His company runs 4 miles everyday and does exercises. They do this everyday no matter what the weather.

Yes, we still do PT. Every morning I get up around 5.30, wake and kiss my wife, and leave out the door around 6 or so. Becuase I know all to well that I need to be in formation at 7.00a for the mornings accountablility call. Thats the good ol army life for ya..

Physical training is still there, and it is NORMALLY done in the morning. There are some units that have PT in the afternoon, but they are few and far between. The types of exercises and uniforms have changed, but the exercise is still mandatory.

My husband has mandatory PT (Physical Training) three times a week...but he only has to go from 7-8am, so he has it pretty good. Any other excercies is up to his own discretion, but they are tested at least once a year, so they have to make sure to stay in shape.

haha, thats funny...i was enlisted in 2001...we got up everyday, at 445am and went running on the beach, doing stretches, weights and every exercise you can imagine...i gained alot of muscle for only being 5 foot tall...

they have to keep us all in shape...they are getting more and more concerned with weights...if you are over weight, you will get shipped to " fat boy camp" as they say it in the navy...they will not let you out of that until you can pass all of your PRT's within good time and you loose all that weight....it will continue to be like this for a long long time

During basic training yes you get up early and do a physical training program. But when you get to a perminant duty station
hours are staggered so you may not have to get up early. And as for excercises well you can go to the gym yourself.
