my husband is going for surgery tomorrow he is diagnosed with pancreatitas and then developt an infection around pancreas now the docter says that he is going to do 2 operations otherwise he would not live. does eny one know what the chanses is of his recovery and has eny one been through this yet.

he is 33 years old and even though he was a strong drinker he never suffer from eny sicknesses he has been trough a hernia operation 2years ago other than that he has been very helfy

partly depend on age and state of health. Many pancreatitis cases arise from chronic alcoholism and then the prognosis isnt good cause they dont stop drinking. Can have diabetic type complications if the pancreatic functions shut down.
