Yes polytheism is much older than Monotheism. But Christians and Muslims won't accept it as such for they believe that in the beginning there was one god. Do not force them to believe in science. Religion is their science.

Are you implying that because belief in Roman and Greek gods predates belief in the God of the Bible or Allah of the Quran (and I'm not sure that's true), that Roman and Greek gods deserve more credence?

You say that the One God thing is NEW, no it is not, You also speak of the Roman & greek gods as being older, no they are not, there is only ONE GOD & HE WAS HERE BEFORE THE FOUNTAION OF THE WORLD, IN FACT HE CREATED ALL THINGS, & you also said that this One God Ideal is a new mythology, Mytology means a thought in someone's mind that can NOT back up their ideals, Can you prove to me that you exist, I can prove to you That God Exist, Maybe you are a myth.

This is the how GOD describes HIMSELF in HOLY QURAN chapter 112.
[112:0] In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
[112:1] Proclaim, "He is the One and only GOD.
[112:2] "The Absolute GOD.
[112:3] "Never did He beget. Nor was He begotten.
[112:4] "None equals Him."
NO ONE can challenge this. Except ISLAM all other religions on the phase of this planet including their so called human gods cannot fit in this category.

How can I explain to you that God, nor his power to save and heal are not a myth? I can't, because I can't force you to believe anything that you don't want to believe. That doesn't mean that God doesn't exist, it just means that you are unbelievably egotistical, self-righteous, and hard-headed. People with your mentality presume to say that God doesn't exist simply because you refuse to believe that you could ever be wrong about anything under any circumstances.
