this is just a part of the disease process. If you don't start feeling better soon you need to contact your dr. or therapist and let them know what is going on. Good luck!

Yes BV. I am on meds and there are days that the easiest task is like a huge obstacle I have to pass. I guess you work or are a mummy with responsibilities that do not allow you staying in bed... I am in the same situation.

Who did give you the "tools and skills" list? Was it your psychiatric? He should know when you are depressed you become a disabled person.

I see 3 things: (1) You may need an adjustment on your medication, talk to your doctor and (2) you talk like you are dealing with this alone... don't! Make the person closest to you involved and (3) every bipolar needs permanently be work things out in a team with a psychologist: mood swings will be part of your life, right, but having someone with you to deal with them will make your life easier.

Additional things:
Glad to hear you are working with both, your doctor and your therapist. Knowing it is just a temporal helps a little, doesn't it? Is your period coming?

Hi, yes, you are not alone, because I am depressed also! I suffer from cronic depression, so I am also always depressed. I don't know about bi-polar depression, but certainly are brain chemistrys arn't working right. I take wellbutrin and cymbalta for seratoin. I think in your case your doctor has to find a combination of drugs to balance your moods. It takes time, but I would let him know that your are still depressed. Don't give up the fight. Find your strenght in God. I meditate most days and it lifts me up so I feel better when I do it. Find something that you know is your purpose in life and full fill that mission. I volenteer for Hopice and help with HIV familys and singles. God don't make mistakes, so get truckin!!! E-mail me if you would like. john_willis66@yahoo.com

This has happened to me several times. It may have something to do with the weather changing or the seasons. It could also be that you need your meds changed some..I know they have been working but for me mine work for a while and then quit or make me more depressed and it has to be changed. I know if I get physically tired, I will get depressed for no reason. I would keep a chart of your moods and what's going on when your mood changes. Share that with the MD. Good luck

No, honey, you're not alone! I'm not bi-polar, so am not familiar with the treatments for it, but if you have all the "tools and skills" to take care of this, then please do so.

There are too many mornings when I just don't want to get out of bed and face the day too, but I have pets depending on me as well as the financial responsibility for the entire household and my college age daughter. I think having something that is dependent on you is a pretty sure-fire way of getting myself out of bed in the morning.

Keep your chin up, you'll get through this fine.

I hate it when I get depressed and cannot figure out what is bothering me. Somehow it seems easier to pull yourself up when you know what the problem is.

When you don't feel like using your tools, USE THEM ANYWAY. Force yourself to use them over and over on a daily basis until it becomes automatic in a few weeks, then you don't have to think about it. Read my story: http://www.geocities.com/seabulls69/AntidepressantThatWorks.html
