Strange as this may sound, on Jan. 18. 1943: the U.S. government banned the sale of pre-sliced bread for the
duration of World War II. Why I don't know, but it's a historical fact.

Cant be copper...the steel penny was introduced in 1945.
Maybe rubber..since it had to be imported.
Nylon stockings was extremely rare.
