What i would like to know is, how many grams of protein and carbs and calories should i be eating a day. I am looking to gain some serious weight.

The body can only digest 30-35 grams of protein every 3-4 hours. Any extra is passed out of the body. If you are getting the protein every 3-4 hours, I imagine your calorie intake will rise also. Eat 6 smaller meals a day to keep the energy up. Don't cut your fat intake too much. This also helps, within reason, to add to body mass. I am not sure about the carb and calorie intake. I would advise doing more sets of higher weights. I would also look into a good Creatine product. I am a firm believer in their effectiveness. The only problem that I have had was WEIGHT GAIN.

eat until you are full, I'd guess. the key is to have a surplus of calories, and to work out hard. but to make things easier, you should eat healthfully. Here are some tips:

eat a varied very high protein, high fiber diet low in saturated fats and refined carbs. shun additives and preservatives. you want whole foods, not overcooked. eat green or colourful vegetables. eat tree nuts, eat fish, eat more fish, the more nutritious fruits (berries), herbs, and some WHOLE grains. don't eat sweets or drink sweet/sour drinks. instead eat fruit. diet really really really matters. it has a slow cumulative effect.

take a good multivitamin most days with a meal. while you are at it take a calcium-magnesium-zinc pill. It's not that expensive. also, get lots of beneficial fatty acids - the omega 3-6-9 stuff. you could take flaxseed oil and fish oil pills or eat lots and lots of olive oil. do shots of it. mmmmm.

then try getting lots of sunlight. get some vigorous cardiovascular exercise as often as you can. practise good posture, perhaps learn a little about basic yoga postures and t'ai chi warmups.

stay hydrated. this can be a matter of simply avoiding certain foods that dehydrate you. if you must use caffeine, consider how it affects your sleep. try to get plenty of regular, restful sleep.

Some cheap creatine powder may help you build muscle but you must be careful to stay hydrated. If it makes you feel crappy, then I say stop.

I am helped by A-AKG, which is a special delivery form of arginine, an amino acid. It makes me feel great, but also I think it is helping build muscle. The only A-AKG brand I've found to work is MRI's "NO2", which seems to be cheapest at the MRI website. I've tried 2 cheaper brands without luck. (I heard Walmart sells it cheap, but I haven't tried theirs yet) Some of the other amino acids may be helpful.

I would suggest learning as much about posture and correct form as possible before intentionally adding muscle. You could do this by studying yoga or t'ai chi, or you could just learn correct lifting form and do the right exercises in the right amounts... build your core, don't focus on chest and biceps. plenty of squats and lunges, rowing excercises

hope something in there helps, good luck!

i know one surefire way too gain weight, eat right before bed every night. the food stays in your stomach and your not moving so much so all the calories are being stored up as weight. if it's weight lifting or fitness training, do that and eat a LOT of carbs and protein ( my dad was a boxer). best of luck
