R u sure it's dandruff & not some other form of dermititis, like psoriasis or something? Clear that up 1st. Cause dandruff is caused by an excess of yeast ( called candida albicans or something, which actually is pretty similar 2 thrush) & head & shoulders & similar products work by breaking down that yeast, resulting in much less dandruff.
If it is dandruff, then maybe the yeast has had a chance 2 multiply by the 5th day, & maybe u should start washin ur hair twice a week. Unless u have really terribly conditioned hair, I wouldn't worry about overwashing. Maybe change ur conditioner if u're worried, oh & ALWAYS rinse really well. A quick blast of ice cold water is good just as u're finishin 2.
Good luck. x

I had the same problem. So i changed my shampoo. True,Head & shoulder is a good one,I've been using the same. But this problem arises when its used in exess. So u need to use a herbal shampoo like Ayurvedic clinic plus . Shikakai is also good. Or take some Yoghurt & add some salt to it &Spread it on your scalp-hair for @10min. Wash it off with herbal shampoo.(once aweek)
Once ur hair r back to normal , u may use ur H & S shampoo sometimes.
So good luck & bye bye

Use a medicated shampoo (like head & shoulders) everytime you wash your hair until you notice a difference, then adjust the frequency of use to suit your needs. Another tip is when rinsing your hair turn the temperature down a few notches as hot water can irritate and dry out your scalp.

If you can get Creighton's Capucian Shampoo, use it. My neighbour swears by it for a similar problem but cant seem to get it any more. He says Head and Shoulders makes his problem worse. Failing that try a medicated shampoo like Polytar.

If you have tried other shampoo and its still quite bad, I would suggest you go and see a doctor about it. It might be more than just dandruff

I have the same problem. Chances are it's not that your skin is dry (dandruff is actually cause by oily skin) but stress, or a high chocolate intake (no joke). Try fixing one of these things and see if you still have it. If not, im stumped!
