I have a huge question... I have a friend who wants to join the AirForce. But acouple of years ago he joined the reserve and for medical reasons could not go to boot camp. The reserve gave him a crappy re enlistment code but now he wants to join the air force without telling them he tried to join the navy reserve. Well they find out or is it possible that he will get away with it. I heard that the branches aren't that connected how do they findout that kind of information?

The service branches could conduct a complete background investigation and can find out the record of your friend.

They will find out. Most jobs in the AF reg atleast a secret clearence so they most like will find it in the investigation. Also on the application it will ask him if he has ever been in any other branch and if he says no he will be charged with fraudlent enlistment.

All he has to to is tell him everything that happen and depending on what his RE code is they may let him in. Also FYI the AF is trying to make cuts in manning and its already hard to get into the AF as prior service so if he wants in to the AF its going to be a fight.

AIrforce is current most overmeand branhc, is like almost 120% !, they gonna cut aleast 28,000 in active airforce and that's like 10%, if u do join expect a very diffcult advance rate.

They will find out. Trust me, I was Legal Admin in the Marine Corps. His Service Record book is on file in Washington DC, and will go to wherever he wants to enlist at.
