NO!. 99% of all vender hotdogs are pork or half pork unless specifically stated as all beef or other meat (chicken, turkey etc).. Pork is cheaper and everyone is out to make a buck these days.
note: same with pizza, dont assume ground meat is beef unless specifically labeled on menu as "all beef".. usually its half/half.

Kosher implies the special way of slaughtering animals - like halal this involves slitting the throat and letting the blood flow out.
However, 'kosher' has been hi-jacked to mean 'real or authentic', So you can't have a 'kosher' hot dog which isn't made with pig meat.

Unless you find a stand with a valid certificate, no. Decades ago, Sabrette used to be kosher but even if you start out with something kosher, it can loose that status by being cooked in non-kosher pans. Hebrew National claims to be kosher and is all-beef but does not have any reliable certification.

if you can only eat kosher food, then you probably won't even consider eating a hot dog from a street seller in NY, just in case it came into contact with other non kosher items, so it doesn't matter.

If you are just asking out of curiousity, then the answer is probably not!

I've never been to New York, but I imagine most food outlets in major cities throughout the world are pretty much the same. Judging by the standards of fast food in Birmingham, UK, I would question whether they are even meat..

I wouldn't have thought so. Franks are made from pork (and other various bits and bobs) which should not be eaten if you follow a Kosher diet.

I suspect if they were Kosher the stall holder would have a sign to say so. Ask the next one when you fancy one, if in doubt don't eat it.
