I believe that is covered with "love one another" (I John 4:7&8) As far as how far do we tolorate... we are commanded to go out and tell the world about Christ's gift of salvation. If they refuse then there is nothing more we can do except pray for them and live the example of Christ.

I would define religious tolerance as loving your fellow human beings, even if you disagree with their viewpoints, which is what Christ taught, and many seem to have forgotten.
To share a personal experience, I spent 7 years as an agnostic, and during that time, I met & befriended a very kind woman, unaware of her religious beliefs. Mind you, I had a deep-seated hatred of Christianity at the time. I grew to love this woman as a sort of second mother, & she always showed kindness & love to me & others. Once I found out she was a Christian, we had many friendly discussions about religion, during which she pointed out that I had many good reasons to believe as I did. She never told me I was wrong or condemned me in any way. Finally, I asked her (she did not offer the information without being asked) why she believed what she did. When she shared her story with me, I was touched, but still I did not believe, myself. In time it changed, and though it was not all her doing, I became a Christian and joined her church.
So religious tolerance, for Christians, is the best way to show someone God's love.

From catholic point of view, all religions should be respected and you should be a model christian in front of other religions. Recently I heard a sermon saying you should go to your non-christian brethren and preach Christ and bring them to Christianity.
In my opinion, you should never categorize other human beings on the basis of religion. Every religion teaches that it is the true religion. If I say my mom is the best mom in the world, that is true about me, not about you. All rivers lead to the sea, and all religions lead to the supreme Being. Your religion is your guideline. It is meant for you, not for others.
Church now agrees that people of all religion will reach heaven or hell depending on their life here on earth. There is no limit to the tolerance that you can go as a christian. Respect and love everybody as human persons. Religion does not add or deduct value to a person.

Its accepting that not everyone has the faith we have. It means not judging others but being wise enough to tell them in the best way what God has made you know.
Definitely has a limit as the stated principles in the Bible apply(commandments, proverbs etc)
Jesus taught it in the case of the good Samaritan and the samaritan woman at the well. Judaism and the Samaritan religions were different with the jews seeing themselves as superior but Jesus tolerated and as a result got a chance to even teach the samaritan woman!

I define religious tolerance as simply accepting the fact that everyone is not going to believe in the same thing I do. And I can accept it. Where the limit comes involves me, not others. For example, I won't worship in a non Christian faith. I won't pray to another god. I won't teach another faith. What others do, however, is between them and God. Peace.

I think Christians should certainly be tolerant of all people of all faiths, but we should be doing a lot more to both show them the love of Christ through our words and actions no matter what their background, and we should pray that they would yield to Christ as their Lord and Savior once God convicts them of the truth. We aren't the ones who convict their hearts--God is. But I think half the battle isn't that people don't acknowledge that God's revelation through Jesus is true, but that people who claim to be Christians aren't showing His love.
I think Brennan Manning said it best: The single greatest cause of atheism in the world today is Christians, who acknowledge Jesus with their lips, then walk out the door, and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.

I would say, do not mock or dismiss or injure any other human being. They are as entitled to their beliefs as you are to yours.
If there is a God, then God is Lord of the multiverse, which includes infinite universes, each containing countless billions of galaxies, each containing countless billions of star systems. So why would that God be so concerned about one sect on one tiny planet?
The rule is Love. That's all anyone needs to remember.

As a Christian myself, I would classify "religous tolerance" as understanding that other people may have different translations of the bible, different traditions of their denominational religion and of course in some cases a different "god". Understanding that and knowing that I will respect that their beliefs are good for them and mine are good for me!! OF course it goes back to not judging people ! We don't have to agree on all platforms of religion but certainly to accept our differences. Also to not mistreat people because you don't agree with their views.
If you are christian then you know there is only one true judge!!

I think that some of Christians don't have it..Because I read the Christians' questions here..Most of the questions (about Muslims) are like Why do you kill? Why do you believe in Islam? Muhammed married with 6 years old girl? Why do Muslim women wear hijab? etc.. Think about that Christians..

I think it means, okay, you may not be of the same religion as I, but as a human being you have rights to say "I worship Barney the Purple Dinosaur" and we leave it for God to decide.
