Not drinking milk is vegan I believe. Eggs evolve into chickens and are considered to be "killing" a chicken in order to eat, which is against most vegetarian ideals. Milking a cow doesn't hurt the cow, nor kill it. You're considering eggs to belong to the chicken that laid it versus the chicken in it. Common abortion argument...

A chicken egg is the embryo of a chicken, and if it was fertilized by a rooster will develop into a chicken. (If not fetilized, it will simply rot within the egg shell). Milk on the other hand is not an embryo, nor do you kill a cow to get the milk. It is a by-product of the cow, not a part of the cow itself. That is the difference between eggs and milk or other dairy products, and why one is vegetarian and the other is not.

Milk is always milk. It never changes to something else and has nothing to do with reproduction. It is only processed grass. An egg can develop into a chicken. If left to mature it becomes meat. This may be way off base, but it's the best shot I've got because I'm not a vegetarian.

It's my understanding that it isn't, technically speaking, "vegetarian" to drink milk or eat dairy because it comes from an animal still, and it definitely isn't "vegan". But...
In terms of trying to eat a bit more ethically without cheating yourself utterly out of nutrition, Milk isn't that bad. As others have mentioned, *all mammals make milk* for consumption. That is a part of the definition of "mammal" really, that they are animals *with mammary organs that make milk*. It isn't living tissue, it's a body fluid. :) Like many other body fluids, it can be renewed by most mammals *with minimal effort* and the taking of the body fluid isn't *life threatening*. Of course, some idiot will chime in about *blood* too, but note the qualifier, I said *many* bodily fluids, not *all*, duh...
But yeah, basically milk is likely one of the *few* animal food products that *is meant to be eaten*, and serves no other purpose, and also *doesn't usually wound or maim the animal to get it*. So it's not vegetarian, but it is the *least* unethical animal by-product in the food chain.
Basically, the same logic applies to those few vegans who go "fruitarian", in that they only eat plant matter that comes with *minimal damage* to the living source: fruits, nuts, berries, and sprouts.
But yeah...I can understand the confusion. So if you want to be a purist about it (and malnourished), sure, go vegan, skip *all the animal matter entirely*. Be puny and miserable, even if there is animal matter out there going to waste (milk) courtesy of its not being put to its DNA-designated *proper use*. ;)
*lol* Sorry, I couldn't resist. :) Really, I am not saying going vegetarian is a bad thing, but honestly, I have *never* seen a happy or content *vegan* in my whole life. Ever. The whole bunch just seems too busy being *militant* to not be *miserable*.

There are alot of different definitions of vegetarianism. There are extreme raw-foodist vegans, there are health concsious people who just want to eat less meat in their diet, and a whole spectrum in between.
Also, if you are just learning english, keep up the good work. If you were raised speaking english, learn how to use spell check. Or a ghost-writer. geez.

im not really sure it is veg or not, but we all need milk pecause there are so many things in it. this is why mammals make milk to feed their babies because it is really good for their growth&body and intellegence of humans.

milk is not alive. it is life food. all mammals make milk to feed their young. it is made for consumption. eggs are made to make more mammals. not made for consimption. milk was never alive so you are not killing it to eat it.
