Would you want to stay in heaven with that cacophonous moaning going on all the time? There's be a mass exodus.

After all, it's always ssaid that "The Devil has all the best tunes" :-)

I think that Elton John is a good man and will go to heaven. It shouldnt matter what his sexuality is. I think that the bible is a history book that is open to mis-interpretation. It bases alot of its teachings and concepts on the what the ethos was at that time in history. We have evolved so much since then.
As far as I can tell, Elton John has been a good person, and has done alot for charity. What he gets up to in the privacy of his own home, should not affect his entrance in to heaven. It is well known that God is all forgiving. Jesus forgave the two thieves that were either side of him when he was being crucified. Homosexuals are not in the same league as thieves, unless they are also stealing. One of the best things in life is to love and be loved...It does not matter that the person you happen to be in love with is the same sex. Times are changing. There are still a few bigots around, but an important thing to remember is: 'The people that matter dont mind, and the people that mind dont matter!!!!!!' x

I was under the impression god is love, he created man in his own image, and therefore accept everyone into the fold.

As we are all witness, only man preaches hate and discrimination. some preach this in the name of religion.
at the end of the day...if you live your life the way you choose, i'm sure if there is a god, he won't give a flying f#@k what your sexuality is,so long as you are a good person, i think he will be more interested in turning away those preaching hate, violance, war and discrimination.
And the a#@holes who do it is his name.... don't get me wrong but when people misqoute me or dare pretend to know my opinions, i get pretty mad. If your doing it about the almighty...well...good luck is all i can say.

God does not judge you. You can do whatever you wish, you have free will. The only judge is yourself.
The kingdom of heaven is at hand. There is nowhere else you can go, except back where you came from, when you choose.
We can all create hell too. Just pay attention to what actions seem to cause more happiness for all, and which cause unhappiness. Then choose how you want it to be.

Have you ever heard that joke about how a member of a particular religious group (which one depends on which group is unpopular in the area) goes to Heaven and is given a tour, and they have to tiptoe past certain rooms? The person asks why they had to be so quiet, and God/Jesus/St Peter (again, this varies) says, "Oh, that's where (insert other religious group) is, they think they're the only ones here."

I think (and this is from a non-Christian's perspective here) that a God who loves His Children is not going to kick them out because of who they love and are attracted to.

If Mr. John has made a conscious decision to follow and believe in the teachings of Christ, then by my count he'd make it - Practicing Homosexuality, the act of two men having sex with one another, is a sin, yes. No question there. However, I am not convinced that the sin of Homosexuality is somehow outside the realm of the forgiveness of Christ. In the end, I can't say if he, or any homosexual, or any other person will make it into heaven.

The ultimate destination of one's soul in death is entirely between you and God - man doesn't have the right to make that call.

It does not matter if you are homosexual or heterosexual, as long as you turn away from living your life your own way, accept Jesus' sacrifice for your mistakes, get baptised in water and The Holy Spirit, and live a life loyal to God.

Hi Euan R. Is homosexuality sinful? Yes. Is lying sinful? Yes. Is stealing? Is murder ? Adultry? Is cheating on your income tax sinful? Yes. If you get out of a homosexual relationship will that get you into heaven for sure? No. Gods salvation plan is not based on works. He tells us this in Ephesians 2:8-9:

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast."

You will not find anywhere in the Bible the concept that God deplores one sin more than another. There is only one sin that will not be forgiven and that is blasphemy.

But yes we are to repent of our sins. Christ tell us we are to repent in Matthew 4:17 "...Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand."

God is talking to us as if we were still in a state of perfection, before Eve obeyed Satan and bit the apple from the tree of knowledge. In this perfect state, God can make commands on us that we must obey. We must Believe on the Lord Jesus, we must repent from our sins, we must follow Him. The problem is (and it is our problem, not God's) the sin we carry makes us spiritually dead and this makes us uncapable of repentance or believing in Christ, or even to seek Him.

Romans 3:11 "There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God."

Nevertheless, God still addresses us as if we were still able to serve Him perfectly. Of course, none of us can serve Him in this way and so God in His Mercy chose certain individuals (which are called the Elect of God) and God Himself (Jesus Christ) took on their sins and Spiritually have made His Children whole. Only then can we obey these commands from God.

If that is how the good Lord created him who are you to question decision?

You show little Christian charity, only homophobia.

You are the one who might not be allowed into heaven for showing such prejudice.
