I think you are referring to a finger bowl???

Boil water, put a small bowl of the water on a plate. Squeeze 1/4 lemon wedge into the hot water and then drop the lemon in. Fold a cloth napkin into a triangle shape and lay it next to the bowl. Place it to the left of your guest. Be sure to warn that the water is VERY hot.
