You need to find out what suit you most. There are all sort of vegetarians. Some combine fruit and vegetable with dairy and some even include fish in their vegetarian routine. Do not do what others do, follow your instinct. Eat what you think is good for you.
here's the list if that answer your question.
Total Vegetarians eat only plant food. They do not eat any animal foods, including fish, eggs, dairy products, and honey.
Vegans not only omit all animal products from their diets, but they also eliminate them from the rest of their life. Vegans use nothing from animals, such as leather, wool, and silk.
Lacto-Vegetarians will include dairy products into their diet of plant food.
Lacto-Ovo-Vegetarians eat both eggs and dairy products.
Pesco-Vegetarians include fish into their diets.
Pollo-Vegetarians eat poultry, such as chicken, turkey, and duck.

It;s a common myth that vegetarians only eat plant foods, but that isn't true. We don't eat any meat or fish, but most consume milk and dairy products, eggs, grains (rice, corn, oats, quinoa etc), soya products (tofu, tempah), lentils, beans, chickpeas, nuts, seeds, potatoes...and of course fruit and veg!
You can buy fake meat such as ham and bacon which are commonly made from soya, as well as various veggies meals like lasgne and chilli (made without meat obviously) You can also buy soya icecream, milk, yoghurts, other deserts.
Some vegetarians prefer not to eat eggs, some won't eat dairy depending on particular beliefs and preferences.
Vegans won't have anything to do with any animal product, so no meat, fish, eggs or dairy, and no honey or any clothes or toiletries with animal products. They will eat any other food, so all the food I mentioned above apart from the eggs and dairy and meat.
So as you can see it's complete rubbish to suggest that we only eat plant foods. We have a healthy and varied diet and don't miss meat at all!

Vegetarians eat non-meat substances. They do not eat anything that once had a mother, although some weird vegetarians do eat chicken and fish... They are also not allowed to have gelatin, found in Jell-O, marshmallows, Altoids, camera film, etc., nor anchovies or lard. They can eat cheeses and milks, though some choose not to have one or the other.
Vegans are stricter. They are vegetarians who do not consume any fish, chicken, cheeses, milks or eggs.
To answer your question, vegetarians can consume vegetarian products not made from plants, BUT many veggies eat only organic foods, which are fully made from plat products and are really healthy. Like, REALLY healthy.

A vegetarian will not eat any meat! He/she will eat/drink animal bi-products (milk, eggs, cheese). The vegans are the ones that will not eat/drink anything from an animal (no cheese, milk, eggs) and of course no meats. Some people like to claim they are vegetarians and still eat fish/chicken just no pork or red meat. That's not a "real" vegetarian though.

Vegans eat food that contain no animal products whatsoever - this is anything from dairy and eggs to foods cooked in animal oil, to jelly or jello (assuming you're American) which contains gelatin which is made from hooves.
Ovo-lacto vegetarians can eat dairy, eggs in addition to the usual beans, lentils, cereals, meat substitutes, and vegetables.
No vegetarians eat fish. A fish is not a vegetable. Nor is a chicken.

People get too hung up on labels. If you eat a little meat, that's better than eating a lot of meat. If you eat fish but no land animals, that's better than eating chickens and cows. Whatever level of dietary change YOU are comfortable with will be better than the standard American meat-based diet. Don't get intimidated by those who set a bunch of arbitrary rules - it's your body and your decision how far to go towards a plant-based diet.
Happy eating!

Vegans eat only plant-based products an no by-products of animals. Vegetarians will eat by-products of animals and some seafood.
Vegetarians come in many forms:
Lacto - eat dairy products (cheese, milk, butter, yogurt, etc.)
Ovo - eat eggs
Pesce (pesh-key) - eat fish, shellfish
Then there are variations thereof, like lacto-ovo, or lacto-ovo-pesce, or lacto-pesce.
Also, vegans will not wear any animal by-product, but vegetarians will.

I just wanted to chime in and tell you that many answers here are wrong. NO vegetarian eats fish. Fish is an animal.

Vegetarians can eat meat. But the only meat they usually eat is fish, eggs, and dairy products (although it really depends on the vegetarians preference).
Vegans, on the other hand, eat ONLY non-meat and non-meat byproducts.
