First you have to acknowledge that cutting is not a permanent solution to stopping inward pain. The cutting may make you feel like you're in control of your pain, but you're really not. Just by replacing the emotional pain with physical pain, the real root of the problem is still there and it has to be addressed head on. Cutting is also a form of escapism - it may make you feel like you're getting away from your problems because you don't think about them when you're inflicting pain on yourself, but all that's doing is pushing it aside. Allowing yourself to feel emotional pain, no matter how hurtful, without a safety blanket of cutting will allow for true healing to take place. By ignoring the problem you are letting it have power over you, and by slowly taking baby steps and allowing yourself to feel all the emotions and cope with them, and let go, puts you in control so that you can influence your emotions and change the way you feel, instead of allowing your emotions to control your you and occupy your thoughts and your life. Acknowledge what it is that you are trying to suppress and numb by inflicting pain on yourself and allow yourself to feel the hurt and cry if you need to, releasing all the pent up negative energy and painful memories or thoughts. If you feel like you can stop cutting on your own, by all means make an attempt to stop, but if you've gotten to the point where you want to stop but can't, don't just hide it from the people who love you, but tell them so that they can get you the help you need to overcome this. Your parents only want the best for you, so don't be scared to tell them about what you're going through. Also, you can always speak to a counselor at your school and open up to them about it if you're afraid about opening up to your parents. All of us on some level periodically try to numb our pain through various means, but there comes a point when you realize that the only permanent solution for healing is facing the pain without any safety blanket, which gets easier each time you make that attempt. If you feel like talking, you can IM me - just let me know. Hurting yourself will not make your problems go away, it just makes the wounds deeper - both emotional and physical. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you will find strength to overcome this. As they say, "There is nothing to fear but fear itself."

:(

why do u cut yourself??? nothing is worth harming yourself Intentionally.. it's not going to do ANY good..!! u need to find Positive, Healthy outlets for your stress, problems, sadness... it is truly important to find another way.

try to get into exercise, sports, activities... either w/ people, or alone... make crafts, write in a diary, write fantasy novels, watch movies, play video games, read.. anything to take ur mind off things..... study! haha.. =T... something active, proactive, that will Help you later on in life.. cutting yourself will not help u, it will only give u scars and make you scared and hurt and even might kill you...... which is not going to "help" u or anyone either!!

can u try to develop more of a relationship w/ ur parents? if not, how bout friends, or even a counselor? a 3rd party "friend", who is not biased or related to you, so u can just vent, and complain u know?

good luck, i hope u find some healthy ways to approach this problem.. u have a lot u can do in ur life, even if u don't realize it yet.... u can Always learn somethign new, change something to be different... work on urself, and eventually your change can affect those around you.. if u are sad, negative, depressed, it can affect those around u negatively..if u are happier, trying to talk more, trying to get to know others, u can affect them in a positive way! try, always try..... u'll never know until then

Most people self mutilate because they feel that the emotional pain that they feel is lessened by the physical pain. This is a behavioral health problem that needs immediate attention. It will only progress to a more dangerous level. Please talk with your parents or a counselor. You need to see a doctor as soon as possible. I'll keep you in my prayers.

You are needing some love and attention, me thinks! It is possible that it is how come you are even doing such a destructive thing with your body. So, how about recognising what is under the ill feelings; and go and talk with them about that.
I am wishing you all the best, and take care.

Join the Army...I'm in the Marine Corps and would suggest you join but i dont think you can handle it, trust me life could be so much worse then what it is...the Army might teach you what its like to have nothing and to be humbled down to just a number...

You need to tell them so that they can get help for you. It is not going to go away by itself. It will just get worse.
