I grew up vegetarian (not vegan). I find meat (etc) rather, well, gross. No problems with other people eating it, and I admit there's a fair bit of mental disconnect required to enjoy eggs while thinking chicken 'gross.' Factory farming IS gross, though -- if some bizarre circumstances saw me starting to eat meat, I suspect I'd want to learn how to hunt.
PETA's just offensive. They deliberately blur the distinction between vegan and vegetarian, brainwash children, lie, and -- well, I'm humiliated that there's any association between my diet and people like that. Other groups: no.

I don't eat any of them.... meat, chicken or seafood. If you ever watch the videos on Peta's website showing you how the animals are treated and how they are slaughtered it would make u sick. Its horrible to think that what you are eating was once walking on this earth or swimming in our oceans... its very sad :( Becoming a vegetarian was the best decision i could have ever made for myself!

I don't eat any animal flesh, dairy, and eggs. I began not eating red meat for health reasons (and mad cow will be here soon).
Then a year later I gave up on all meat (seafood smells so well fishy, and the toxins they contain. Ever wonder why they tell pregnant women and the elderly not to eat fish, but it is OK for the rest of us to eat it? No thank you. Chicken is just bad news for all sorts of bacteria breeding ground).
Then a year later cheese and milk were cut out. Dairy was easy to give up because after I stopped eating/drinking it, sinus troubles and joint pain went away. Organic eggs were just getting too expensive so I just did away with that.
Health reasons made me first want to change. Then you become aware you are now called a vegan, and you find out that they became vegan because of animal rights. And you see PETA's videos about the treatment of animals. It gets you thinking when you see some animal in stark terror, making loud screams as it is getting killed, and then marked with a white marker for the chainsaw to cut it up into little pieces. And this is done not just day by day, but hour by hour, and even minutes by minutes, for what? Just so I can put a piece of its flesh into my mouth and swallow it into my body? Especially when I can live healthier without it! No thanks. Plus I don't have to feel guilty about having some living animal killed just to satisfy my ignorant nutrition ideas.

I don't really think that eating meat is bad per say, but I feel that the way the meat industry conducts itself is inhumane and unacceptable. The disgusting living conditions of the animals, the methods of mass mechanical slaughter, the injecting of hormones and other chemicals that have been shown to have negative side affects on humans, and the general public disrespect of life are reasons to me for not eating meat. With the fish industry, there is a huge problem with people over fishing the oceans, and pollution has caused many harmful chemicals to end up in the fish meat that we consume. I believe that eating animals is okay if you do it in the way that nature intended.

Some people don't eat meat, poultry, seafood, etc. for animal rights while others don't eat them for religious reasons. It's about respecting the soul and spark of God that exists in every one of these living creatures.

Everything that humans eat is living or dead. Salads, nuts, cereal, soy products, meat, fish, everything. Not eating meat (being vegetarian) physically energizes your body more so than eating meat/junk food. It is a personal choice, often spiritual, and many can't really pin down any one reason why they are vegetarian. It may be who you are, who you were, karma, life. It is very healthy and opens your whole being more so to life.

I just think it is nasty to eat the muscle of something. Being a veggie is way more healthy and the food is totally better.
