After spending the entire day with her doing all kinds of cute things and planning every detail, take her to a quiet park in the evening where you've prepared blankets and wine and watch the sunset. Stay there til you're Star gazing and talk about the future and get sappy as ever. And pop the question after a sweet long speech about how want to spend the rest of your life with her and make babies with her and do mundane everyday life with her. And have someone in the bushes taking pictures so you capture the moment.

Ask her right out of the blue. Over breakfast. After dinner. You will know the moment. When you look at her and feel how much you love her, that's the moment. It could be when she is out in the yard planting bulbs, with dirty hands and old clothes on, you get the drift.
Most guys have trouble with the ring, will she like it or not? My answer to that one is to pick out a beautiful ring that has her birthstone in it. Give that one to her when she says yes and then let her pick out her own engagement ring. That would appeal to the practical girl, and to the girl who likes jewelry, two rings are better than one, always.
No set ups, unless she's that kind of girl. Then hey, anyone can rent a balloon ride or plant a ring in a piece of cake.

Rent a billboard that others can see while driving in the city and Have it read " Her name, there is no one else on earth I could imagine being my wife. Will you marry me? ......Then take her out for a picnic and take a portable cd player with a cd of songs that you and her have shared together since you met. After your picnic drive her to the billboard and in some way get her to look up to see it and read it. That would be so awesome..hehehe.

Send her on a scavenger hunt through the mall . Have a wrapped gift waiting for her at each store with instructions inside for the next store to go to. Such as a nighty from Victoria's secret with a note inside to go to the music store and etc. then finally the jeweler with a note meet me at the north entrance and have a horse and carriage waiting and hold a sign that says
"MARRY ME"

Find something that is special to the both of you. First date, Your song, etc. then set up everything according to that.
or
you could take her on a trip to some place romantic. Don't forget the camcorder though. hide it somewhere and press record so you'll have that memory forever.

have a very romantice time. got to dinner at the place where you first went out. make sure that from where you are sitting is a nice few. have some flowers ,wine, and some music playing. then pop the question.

Put it on a billboard. I have a friend who did that. She saw it on the way to work one day.

do something that is unique to her. if she loves flowers take her to a green house thing and hide the ring in her favorite flower and tell her to get really close and take o good look. when she does explain that you love her and how you feel then when she spots the ring go for it and ask. good luck.

My opinion is, it's not about being flashy or like it happens on TV where everyone is watching. It should just be memorable and something you 2 can relate to and appreciate.
