I just saw aposting from a Canadianwho says she has seen only 1 Mexican in her life time in Canada. That could be because maybe Canada inforces the laws reguarding ILLEGALS where we dont. The idea of a 700 mile fince is a start but not the whole end to the problem. How about inforcing the laws we have now. I had to show proof of citizenship before I could renew my drivers License( birth certificate), so why should nt proof be given for benifits. I also had to show proof to show I lived whetre I said I lived to vote.Maybe someone can tell me why I have to live by the laws & I was born here but someone not born here does not.Maybe I should go to Mexico & see if I can steal their benifits if they have any.

Trust me, Canada does have a large Mexican population....I know many affluent Mexicans move there to escape the crime and poverty in Mexico....Its much easier to move to Canada, then to USA.....You don't need a sponsor there....You should be happy you are expected to show proof that you are a US citizen, that means the laws have changed.....Stop whining!

First off, I am sorry that your niece is experiencing such hard times right now. It is for US citizens in her situation that the programs she applied for were put into place. I feel that proof of citizenship should be required for any benefit in this country. Unfortunately, there are a lot of illegal aliens posing as citizens by way of identity theft. One illegal marries and become legal. She is nearly the same height and weight as her sister who crossed the border illegally. She allows her sister to use her new SS# to obtain documentation in her name. The sister collects welfare illegally while the one who married pops out kids in between cleaning houses for cash. It happens all the time. I reported a girl at work to SS when I discovered she was using several different names and SS#'s. She was working with me at BP where she was promoted to a position that gave her access to my SS# and all other employees. When I expressed my concern I was fired and she was promoted to assistant manager. Social Security has done nothing about my complaint. This is why we need to vote those currently in power in this country out and get people in office who will do what we say about illegal immigration because they will understand that they will not get another term if they don't.

The Berlin wall divided one country and was to keep the people of east Berlin prisoners of the Soviets.
This wall is between two country's.Its our right to do whatever it takes to protect this country from invasion of millions of illegal aliens. Our welfare is for our legal citizens. It is provided by the taxes all legal Americans pay.Illegal aliens are able to access our entitlement programs thru the use of ,stolen, purchased, forged and fraudulent documents. They are also given things by some private bleeding heart charity groups. With help of cash, food and clothing etc. This misguided humanitarian help should be given to legal Americans first and then help others.I am against any and all illegal aliens and my vote will reflect that in Nov and in 2008.Make the bastards in Washington hear your voice .Vote in NOvember for all anti illegal candidates that support your views on this important issue.
No NOT everyone belongs in this country. Our nations laws run this country not the illegal law breakers.
mario you just voiced a lot of racism yourself so you are the person full of race hate.......you are the one calling others names because of their race.......

Maybe you SHOULD go to Mexico. And you'll see that there are NOT any benefits for the poor. And maybe while you are there you'll see the extreme poverty in that country. And MAYBE you'll understand that the people there KNOW they are breaking some laws by crossing the border and coming to the U.S. - but that it's the only way to feed their families or even themselves. If all that was standing between you and starvation was some other country's laws - and you knew the laws were not really enforced - and you were willing to work hard - what would you do?

If you don't want illegal Mexicans in your country - then you should stop doing business with EVERYONE who takes advantage of their cheap labor and employs them even though it is against the law. You probably would have filthy public restrooms wherever you went - there would be very few restaurants for you to eat in - your neighborhood's front yards would look like crap, produce would cost at least twice what you pay for it now - and I could go on and on. If the U.S.A. doesn't want Mexicans here - then the businesses must stop taking advantage of what they bring to our country. And we as individuals must do the same. It's way easier said than done. The government is not doing anything because it knows the sweet deal it has going by having them here.

Me? I think God put stuff here for everybody - and I'm very willing to share what I have - especially since I was blessed enough to be born into the wealthiest country in the world.

If the US would enforce the laws and not send Border Patrol agency to jail for doing their jobs we would not have this problem.

I don't think there are any viable benefits for offer in Mexico.
Unfortunately, somehow that has become *our* fault and we now are supposed to become bleeding hearts who should give everything we have ever saved to them.
