It is really a simple question. But as we see they do not even really know even though we clearly do know. They give answers like we believe there are many gods but we believe in only one of them, so i guess we are monthiest.!?. Hmmm. typical.

Mormon believe there is one God for this world.. Our Father which is in heaven. Jesus was His first born Son and is out spiritual brother. They do however believe that Our God had a God who in turn had a God and so on back into the eternity of the distant past. They also believe that if we except Mormonism, keep all it's laws and partake of all the ordinances we can become a God too. So tell me is this perversion mono or Polytheist? Jim

Interesting question; while we believe God and Jesus and the Holy Ghost are separate beings, and we consider the possibly of other gods being out there in all the vastness of eternity, but we only worship God the Father, so intellectually speaking you could say Polytheistic, but spiritually speaking, it would be accurate to say we're monotheistic.
I hope that helps.

Mormons are clearly polytheistic. They believe multiple gods have existed. Also they believe as god is, we may become.

Yes and No. We believe in God the Eternal Father, His son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost. That's three, count 'em. We believe they make up the Godhead. There's just one of those.
Our Heavenly Father is our ruler. Jesus taught us to pray to Him, and to give Him the Glory. That's the top.
Is Jesus divine, yes. Is the Holy Ghost divine, yes.
Is anything else divine? Possibly, but we are not given the details.
Can we ever be divine? Possibly. We are heirs with Christ, no longer servants, as was taught by Paul.

I say Monotheist since we only worship one God and not everyone that has died.

Since they believe anyone can become a god, they are polytheistic.

We have only one God. He is God our Father, the Father of Jesus Christ. The one to whom we pray. We believe that if we live our lives according to His requirements, we will be more like Him. Of course we can never make it thorugh this life without a Savior so Christ atones for the times we fall short.
But through the mercy and grace of God, if we prove that we can obey laws, He will teach us what He knows, then we can do what He does. This is what brings God His greatest joy, to create us and see us succeed. To see us become like Him. Yet He will always be my God, and His Son will always be my Savior. Just as my father will always be my father even when I become a father.
The "Christian" God creates people only so we will worship Him. If we worship HIm correctly, we go to heaven and continue to only worship Him. If we do not worship HIm here, we burn in hell forever. I cannot comprehend such a being.

Mormons are Monotheist. e.e They ARE part of Christianity and only worship one God.
Did you mean monogamist and polygamist? That's where the Mormon controversy usually is. And to answer that question, any Mormon caught practicing polygamy is immediately excommunicated.

I guess they refer themselves as monotheists...Mormons, jehovas call themselves Christians and should be respected even if a majority don't consider them Christian.
