It is unfortunately true if you are sharing that bowl of peanuts with the rest of the bar. A lot of people don't wash their hands after handling their bits in the toilet, and any urine on their hands will transfer onto nuts in communal bowls. Remember when you used to get mints from a bowl at the door af a restaurant when you left? Have you noticed how they are now wrapped?

Yes it,s 100% true ,as soon as people touch anything germs are transfer ,ed to the peanuts ect, just imagine the pub people going to the pub loo, even if they wash their hands the next person to the loo will pick up any germs there. After a study of a bowl of pub peanuts there were found 14 different kinds of urine bacteria. So leave the things be .

well...YES. picture it: you're at a bar and a man walks into a bathroom uses it.(a little drunk so he doesn't wash his hands) walks up and sees you sitting there eating some really good peanuts that you know nothing about but that they are peanuts. He reaches in with his piss covered hand and drops so juiz into the bowl. you, not knowing that he didn't wash his hands goes in for a couple of peanuts and grabs the most nasty *** peanut and eat it. loving every bite because you think that drunk fool is the one!!! don't eat anything they leave out in the open at a bar or a party it's self explainable!!!

This must be an american thing because i've never seen a bowl of peanuts on a bar, ever.
But yes it stands to reason that anything that a lot of people touch is going to be covered in all sorts of things. Urine in those small quantities is completely harmless, although some of the other bacteria might not be.

People in bars stick their hands in the bowl. They also use the bathroom and often do not wash their hands so there is most likely more then just "wee" on those peanuts.

Yes! You never know where peoples hands have been, if they have washed them after using the restroom or simply sneezed on them before dipping into the bowl. That bowl of peanuts or whatever it may be is an infestation for germs that you don't want to come into contact with!

Yes, There were test done a few years back. I'm not sure by who exactly. They found urine, feces, and even traces of semen. So Sorry to say this , but many men and some woman don't wash after they use the facilities. How disgusting. I have seen this first hand many of times. Women go to the restroom, use it for who knows how long, then come out of the stall, look at there reflection in the mirror, and go out with out touching a drop of water. Some women are even dressed like they are made of money. You would think they would know better, but they don't. That is why we have taught our children, that no matter what, WASH YOUR HANDS PLEASE!

I pay careful attention in bars to what they do with peanuts from previous customers. If they discard them, I'll eat peanuts there. YOu'd be surprised how many bars just dump them back in the storage for peanuts. This is an easy way to get sick since you have no idea how many hands have been on these peanuts.

Think about it. How many people go to the toilet and not wash their hands, they come out and put their hands into the bowl to get nuts. Think also about the other human function that could be contaminating that bowl of nuts. It is true Do not touch.
