Either brown or white sugar is not hepful.
If you need a sweetener then use stevia.
Whatever you do, don't use nutrasweet or similar. These are highjly toxic and VERY dangerous.

Type 2 diabetes, usually referred to as adult onset, is when your body produces insulin but can not use it properly. This type can be treated successfully with the right diet and exercise in most circumstances. If blood sugars are not kept under control at some point insulin will probably be integrated / oral medications are also available.
People with diabetes can live long, happy lives but must be diligent in their care and make sure you see your endocrinologist on a regular basis.

Umm...I think your doctor needs to teach you a little more about diabetes if you are asking this question...if you have diabetes, regardless of if it is type1 or type2, no form of simple sugars is good for you! Sugars are actually carbohydrates, in their simplest forms, so diabetics are encouraged to eat complex carbohydrates such as multi grain bread, etc...and fruits and vegies are ok...anything but pure sugar, whether it is brown or white makes no difference as well...

Sugar, no matter its color, is not good for people with diabetes. Look for "ose" at the end of words on labels to determine if it has sugar in it. This would be lactose, maltodextrose, etc. These are all forms of sugar. Be aware and become educated diabetes can kill you but not if you take care of yourself.

There is a lot of stuff on the internet that is basically fat-shaming diabetics for causing their own diabetes with their bad diet and lack of exercise and general lack of moral fibre. A lot of this stuff is written by non-doctors, often with a supplement or diet or training plan to sell that they claim will completely cure diabetes if only people stick to it.
I read this interesting book https://tr.im/pfxqc that gave me a lot of useful tips about my disease and also a different perspective on the best therapeutical approach. I think you should read it too.
