You can, but it can irritate your vagina and the infection even more. If you can, it's best to use pads until the infection clears up.

It is not advised because tampons can cause yeast infections – by preventing your vagina cleaning itself out, giving bacteria and yeast a place to multiply and if you use commercial tampons such as Tampax the chemicals will further cause problems as they will affect normal vaginal pH that often causes imbalance in vaginal flora. Bare in mind also your period itself can affect infections as menstrual blood also has a different pH to your vagina, so you'd need to be extra careful about how you deal with the infection.

It is best that you use other menstrual options; pads, menstrual cups, free-flow, etc. rather than tampons when you have an infection, or at any time really given health issues associated with tampons. If you do use a tampon then I'd suggest at least putting some tea tree oil on the top of the tampon to help deal with the infection (put something like olive oil or KY jelly on the tip to avoid the tampon simply soaking up the tea tree oil.

Depends on how your treating the infection. If your using a vaginal cream I wouldn't recommend it. Those creams are supposed to slowly leak out, a tampon would prevent that. If your talking a pill, then I wouldn't see the harm in it. The infection is being treated from the inside out and will not be effected by a tampon. Good Luck

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

If you have a yeast infection you shouldn't be using tampons.

you can risk the tampon being a means of the infection traveling inward, don't use one during an infection..

no, don't do it.... use a pad, etc, anything but tampons, makes it worse, much much worse, tampons contain the blood inside of u, and therefore makes it worse
