If you eat fish, you are not a vegetarian...

What is a Vegetarian???

Vegetarians do not eat meat, fish, or poultry. An increasing number of vegetarians also abstain from using any animal products, including dairy, eggs, and honey. These vegetarians are called vegans (pronounced VEE-guns). Among the many reasons for being a vegetarian are health, environmental, ecological, and religious concerns, dislike for meat, compassion for animals. economics, world hunger, and belief in non-violence. The American Dietetic Association has affirmed that a vegetarian diet can meet all known nutrient needs and be healthful for people of all ages. The key to a healthy vegetarian diet, as with any other diet, is to eat a wide variety of foods, including fruits, vegetables, plenty of leafy greens, whole grain products, nuts, scads, and legumes.

If u want to be a true vegetarian then you should
leave alone fish too..U can get protein from beans, grains, cereals, mushrooms. Also Kelp a seaweed
plant.it's not proteins that you really need its
certain enzymes that are in meat including fish
but these important enzymes are in many fruits too..
Just eat more fruit..Vegetarians really should be
called fruitaterians then they'd probably understand
fruit is more important than the veggies. If U don't
want to be complete vegetarian go ahead eat your
fish. Many vegetarians eat eggs, dairy milk and
if you eliminate those and all animal & fish items from your diet then U become a Vegan! To answer your question if U eat fish & U call yourself vegetarian..U deserve to be bullied cause U aren't a vegetarian.Say semi-vegetarian that should reduce the pulling. If you're a true vegetarian... shove the cruelty of slaughtering in the meat eaters face if they are bullying you.. they deserve to be bullied back!

Yeesh. There's no such thing as a "vegetarian" who eats fish.

It also seems more than unlikely that you would "easily die or something" if you cut out the fish as well. Eat what you like, of course, but.

Very few people want to hear about how anybody changed their diet because they "ADORE animals," or have "very fragile system(s)" (whatever that means), or are vegetarian-but, or...

And: the easiest way to be a non-bullied vegetarian is to shut up about being a vegetarian.

edited to add:

I don't mean to sound nasty about it despite the 'shut up about it.' It's just that vegetarians and vegans rambling on about their diets gives vegetarianism a bad name. Just like you probably don't want to hear people nagging you to eat meat.

To be honest I have found it difficult as well to deal with these issues. I usually respond that in itself I understand that we are a meat eating culture, but we often find ourselves being cruel to the animals that provide us food. We live in a world where all animals could be treated better so you are taking a stand that this cruelty is something that you are against. You can say that you respect their thoughts, but like recycling we all need to take a stand. I still get crap from people but I don't let it bother me anymore. Don't shove it in people's face as well. I find that at school my friends know how I feel and that is enough for me. Be strong...if you want you can stop eating fish as well. Then you would be a true veggie. But in effect the whole cruelty thing we never think fish feel anything so live you heart.

You're not a vegetarian if you eat fish; they are animals, plain and simple. But that doesn't really matter. Just eat as you see fit and stop trying to justify yourself to the bullies. It's none of their damned business

Your doctor should know, though, that it is not remotely difficult to get plenty of protein on a vegetarian diet. There are numerous sources available to you should you care to educate yourself about it.

You don't need all that much protein; you can get plenty from milk, veggies and fruits and grains. Tell your friends (who are your friends and not wannabes) that all the carnivores of the animal kingdom have very short intestinal tract, whereas humans have long intestines. This is because meat putrefies very quickly, and must be passed through the system rapidly or it will toxify the system; humans are meant to be vegetarians, because like all other vegetarian mammals, their intestines are long which allows the food to be absorbed slowly and thus more nourishment is gotten into the body. Or, if they make fun of you, tell them you don't eat your friends.

If you eat fish you are not a vegetarian. As to your problem, eat some real red, rare meat and you will be strong enough to beat up the people that give you a hard time.

FISH
IS
NOT
A
VEGETABLE

Stop giving the rest of us a bad name. If you eat fish call yourself a pescetarian, macrobiotic, whatever. If you eat fish, you're not a vegetarian and you cannot be sad and supprised when people point that out. Eat whatever the hell you want but don't adopt a label that's not yours.

That aside, eat more protein-rich foods. Soybeans, seitan, tofu, dark greens, and, although I'm a vegan and hesitate to say it, dairy if you really must. Plan out your meals better.

What you decide to eat is, of course, your business.

But, I'll tell you what, at the age of 14 you aren't finished growing, and that means you aren't at your full adult height, yet.

If you're happy with your present height, then slow down your protein intake. If you think you might like to continue growing taller, then pack on the protein.

Meat from animals supplies more than protien, by the way; it includes taurine (an essential compound), for example, that beans do not.

In short, if you want to reach physical maturity more quickly, as well as realize your full potential for height, eat meat. It's the substance that is most like your own body, and is most readily turned into strong straight bones, fit muscles and healthy organs.

If you want to be short and frail, eat tofu.
