I had a blood test and an ekg taken while I was the ER from a fainting spell (my first). My 'readout' that I brought home from the ER said under the title, Cardiac Markers, ....."Troponin I.......<0.10"
What does it mean? I was alarmed when they told me to see a cardiologist. I have an appt made already. I do feel fatigued allllll the time. No pains though.

There are 3 different lab markers that doctors use to determine if someone has had a heart attack. Basically, you have a heart attack when your heart muscles can't get supplied with the blood (oxygen) that they need. Your cardiac (heart) cells break down and release substances into your body that can be picked up with lab work. The 3 tests are CK, CKMB, and Troponin. Troponin is the marker most sensitive to CARDIAC muscle breakdown. The other two can be high when muscles other than your heart are damaged. Troponin<0.10 indicates a normal level which means that there is likely no damage to your heart muscle. You may have fainted due to other problems with your heart, though, that would not be picked up with this kind of test. Don't be worried about seeing a cardiologist. It is very normal to go to one when you've had a fainting episode. They will explain to you some of the potential causes of your fainting and how it's related to your heart when you go for your appointment. Good luck and hope you feel better!

these questions need to be addressed to a medical expert. i suffered from heart problems due to my last pregnancy...i would never come on here and ask yahoo users. sorry to be harsh, but when it comes to your health...ask an expert.
