Yes. If you stop now you may never have to find that out.

Researchers have recorded several instances in which otherwise healthy people have suffered heart attacks shortly after smoking marijuana, the most commonly used illegal drug in the United States. Experiments have also linked marijuana use to elevated blood pressure and decreased oxygen supply to the heart muscle. A large study now suggests that marijuana indeed puts a person at increased risk of immediate heart attack.

I wondered the same thing, until I tried it. I have hypertension and I tried smoking marijuana and I ended up in the hospital. I had to get 2 different shots and an IV in me because my blood pressure and spiked to a very dangerous level. I suggest dont do it the smell of smoke just gives me chest pains now. Be cautious if you do it. To add one more thing I smoked for 3 yrs and then I got hypertension and all of that happened

There is no evidence that smoking marijuana increases your chance of a heart attack.
I don't advocate marijuana, but the fact is is doesn't cause heart attacks.

As expected, you have recieved fairly biased opinions. I will give you an unbiased opinion, as best I can.
Dope can reduce stress (A major cause of heart attack).
Dope can cause heartattacks, but you have to be a candidate for heart conditions in the first place. With any breathing in of oxygen reducing agents (smoke, dust, car exhaust, etc) your heart will be at a higher risk of popping a valve.
There are HUNDREDS of proven medical benefits for dope. For one, it is prescribed legally for glaucoma (an eye problem)
There is not one single benefit to smoking cigarettes.
Dope effects everybody differently both physically and emotionally. Problems can occur when the user is inexperienced and the problem, in almost all cases, is simply "trippin' out" or better put... "Is handling things awkwardly in their head at the moment, but they will return shortly". Dope is not a hard drug as many would like you to believe. In fact in many regions and countries arond the world it is openly legalised and medically prescribed, FACT.

Yes, heart attack, stroke, lung cancer all are risks ...same risks as cigarette smoking only worse.
The only thing it is good for is nausea and glaucoma.
