Nutrogena makes one for oily hair...I think it's called TGel. My brother went through a greasy hair stage and used it. And don't be afraid to use the TGel conditioner as well...because not using conditioner makes you scalp dry right after a shower, then your scalp thinks it needs to produce more sebum (oil) and that may be causing your overproduction of oil. The conditioner is very light. And don't worry, you'll grow out of the greasy hair stage!!

Don't use head and shoulders if your problem is greasy hair. That's for dandruff and dry scalp. You should use something for oily hair (pantene 4 oily hair) and use a clarifying shampoo once a week or so. Pantene also has one of those and not too expensive. that's to get all the buildup out of your hair (gels, hairspray, normal daily wear) How often are you washing your hair? If you have oily hair you should be washing it no less than every other day. If your willing to spend more $ go to a beauty supply store ex: peninsula beauty and look for a shampoo for oily hair, salesperson can help. Also when you use conditioner DO NOT put it on your scalp. Only on the bottom 1/2 of your hair.

Your hair is probably really greasy because its dry. It overproduces oil to make up for the dryness. Try washing it with a moisturing shampoo every other day (instead of everyday).
Also where you live could be a factor. Intense heat and humidity or if you live in a city can also accelerate oil production. In that case, wash everyday or twice if its really oily and use a clear colored cleansing shampoo.

Get a shampoo and conditioner for oily hair, Body on Tap is good. You could also use bought lemon juice - without any bits and pieces of lemon in it and dilute this ie 30 mls ( 3 Tablespoons) if lemon juice in a pint of water and last rinse your hair with this.

When my hair gets to the point that it feels greasy all the time, I use a shampoo with TEA TREE OIL to strip the hair and then use a moisterizing shampoo.
I have also heard that TTO works against lice..

What works really well is Drama Clean from Herbal Essence. And make sure to wash it everyday so it dosent build up and look even more oily.
