depends on the fish you are using but give fresh haddock a try, coat in beaten egg and cover in golden breadcrumbs instead of batter, its yummylicious, with the potatoe salad make sure you have plenty of herbs added, basil and thyme etc. these will give it a really fresh taste, as well as coleslaw make a dish called raitha,
used in indian cooking quite a lot its made from plain yoghurt, with finely chopped cucumber and mint in it, gives a really fresh taste to any meal serve the raitha with dippers of any kind you fancy. good luck with the meal

Why is this directed to anyone in the UK?
There are a lot of recipes out there in country's like Spain, America, Germany, and Italy that you could use.
If your looking to impress, go with something different.

I have a wonderful potato salad recipe that was given to me by a
German friend. Unfortunately, you are only interested in UK residents providing you with a receipe.
Why so selective?

When you make coleslaw and potato salad add some horseradish sauce to your mayo, it gives it a nice kick without blowing your head off.
