Ophthalmia Neonatorum may be causad by Chlamydia derived from the mother's cervix during delivery.Ophthalmia Neonatorum is the largest cause of blindness in a newborn,especially in the developing world.I must remind you that Chlamydiae infection is usually asymptomatic,so if you think you are infected,get it treated.It responds well to antibiotic.

chances are that the child would be born with it and due to the unborn child it could be born blind as well resportoey trouble this is a very few things and my opion toward a child born with this isnt very good . my opion?

As many as half of all infants born to mothers with chlamydia will be born with the disease. Chlamydia can affect infants by causing spontaneous abortion (miscarriage), premature birth, blindness, and pneumonia.
