As long as you keep having normal pap smears that is a really good sign you have gotten rid of the virus.

Also, just because you were diagnosed with HPV doesn't mean you will get warts. There are over 100 different kinds of HPV and on;y about 12 of those kinds cause warts. So, unless you had one of those 12 kinds you will never develop the warts.

HPV does and can go away for most people. There is no "cure" but many people are basically able to fight the virus off.

You need to make sure you have a pap every year or even 6 months. You can have the virus without visable warts. The warts may be appearing on your cerix. That is why a pap is necessary. Talk to you doctor about your concerns, you will feel better. Good Health.

Actually HPV can go away. It is EXTREMELY rare, we're talkin like 1 in a 1000, it actually happened to a friend of mine. I currently have 3 friends that have HPV, and only two of them show the external strain of the virus(warts) but the one that doesn't have the external had a hell of a time conceiving, it was truly a miracle, and she has all sorts of lesions basically "eating" her insides up! Anyhow to answer your question, the likeliness that its "gone" is slim, you just might not be having a flare up. But its a very good possiblity that you're just not having a flare up, but that you still have the virus!

Sometimes hpv never has a noticable clinical sign. You can still pass it though. Keep ggetting regular paps and be careful, they have linked hpv w/ some types of cervical cancers. They are in fact vacinating young girls to help prevent this and lower the risk of cancer

Once you have HPV, the virus is in your system for life...it does not go away. When you had your recent pap test, did you tell your doctor that you have HPV? If it was me, I would want another test.

Best wishes.

Well due to the fact that HPV is a virus it is never gone it can only be treated. Therefore you just think its gone.
