Yes, kinda. You can get an STD if your genitalia comes in contact with the genitalia of your partner. In other words, contact between the penis and the vagina without penetration can still spread STDs. So if you and your partner are going to be naked and lying beside or on top of each other then protection should be used. Also, you cannot catch anything from a toilet seat, swimming pool, etc.

Come on guys, lets be intelligent.

STD are bacterial and viral infections. They they are all grouped together because they can be spread from sexual contact they can also spread via other mechanisms, JUST LIKE OTHER BACTERIAL AND VIRAL INFECTIONS.

Now they're not airbourne like the flu, they usually require transferance from direct person to person contact though sometimes may be able to spread from fomite transferance.

Also lets define SEX. Yes sex is considered whenever one person contacts the other person's gentals. So a ******* is SEX. Anal is sex. I've had people think they couldn't be infected just because they didn't have vaginal intercourse.

Yes if you touch a person's blood you can pick up a blood borne STD. Otherwise you wont get it unless you touch their body fluids (except sweat) without wearing latex gloves.
