Does anyone know of a good OTC topical cream for genital warts? Only serious answers, please.?

There is NO natural cure for HPV (the virus that causes genital warts). There are several topical medications (creams) that can be used to treat the warts though, like Aldara or Condylox which can be applied at home, or medications that can be used by the doctor during several visits to them. If they are severe or the medications don't work you may need to have them surgically removed, which from what I have heard can be pretty painful. Do NOT use over the counter products on genital warts. These medications are used for hand or feet warts and should not be used on the genital area. If they are used on the genital area it can actually irritate the skin more and even burn it! The genital area is to sensitive to use over the counter medications on.

It's best to see a doctor. They can properly diagnose you and offer the correct treatment.

Many genital warts come and go w/no treatment. The virus does remain in your system.. Nothing I know OTC will clear them. Have you discussed this w/ your healthcare provider ?.

Yeah, I had them once.. but only for about a week. It wasn't a bad case and they went away on their own.. and they'll probably come back again because even though they go away it stays in your system. the only thing to do for them to get rid of them is to go to the doctors. they have special treatments to freeze them off.. it sometimes takes a few visits to get rid of them but it works. there's no topical cream or anything to get rid of any type of wart... good luck, yo. and keep it clean down there in the mean time.
I had a friend w/ the same thing and she kept having sex and stuff and she got a pretty nasty infection.. gross.

i would definitely go see a doctor . i had warts 10 yrs. ago and the dr. gave me a topical cream. the problem with that was, you tend to "over-applicate" because all you want is to GET RID OF THEM !! unfortunately, when you over-applicate, the medicine gets on tissue that is not affected by the warts and it is very painful. the best treatment is to have them lasered off. it takes a few appointments. i never had a recurrence. good luck

This may be an akward situation or embarrassing situation for you but the only way to get rid of HPV is to go to your doctor, I personally had to go to the doctors for treatment and have never had an occurence since. Don't think that there is anything that you can get OTC for HPV. Good luck to you in your situation.
