The best thing to do is to go to Planned Parenthood and have them do a blood test to determine if you have herpes. They can test for the two different types: HSV1 and HSV2. HSV1 causes cold sores in your mouth, HSV2 causes cold sores in intimate areas.

The doctors are most likely not wrong. If you are looking this stuff up on the internet, it is obvious that this is troubling you. Get the test...you'll feel better.

Oh, and yes, it could be ingrown hairs or "hair bumps" If you shave or wear tight nylon underwear, you can get that.

Did the doctors run tests to determine if it was herpes or not? Generally if they think it is not herpes, then it is not and it is just a rash, some small tears which got a little infected, or ingrown hairs. Ask if they would test it anyway for herpes to make you feel better about it. They will do it if you insist.

Were the doctors gynocologists or just medical doctors? Herpes are fluid type filled blisters that itch really bad and hurt very much. Have you had this on and off? Have your partners become infected with the same condition? I would go to a health department or a gyno and see what they say.

Herpes doesn't just itch. It hurts. They are more like blisters than bumps. If the doctors thought it was herpes, they would test you for it. I doubt the doctors are wrong.

Did they do blood work to determine that it is not herpes? If not go back and have them run some HSV Titers. If they did do the blood and it came back normal yes, they can be ingrown hairs or recurring sebaceous cysts.

They could be ingrown hair. If you shave then its most likey what it is. Or it could be a rash... maybe like a yeast infection. Keep it clean and dry down there.
