I was injured over 9 months ago when I fell at work injuring the left side. I have a chip in the hip and buldging disks from L2-S1. I have done everything asked (at least once) and I have no real answers yet. I have had x-rays, mri, cortisone shot, physical therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, an epidural steroid injection into L4-S1, and now she wants me to have a SI injection. Because its a work comp case I cannot get away from this doctor and she does not agree with anyone she sends me to. I have seen over 10 different "specialists" and no one can say what is causing the pain. As it sits I have been out of work since the day after the injury which was 9 months ago and may I add I'm only 25. I was injured when I was 24 and spent my bithday in pain uable to barely walk. Everyday I experience pain in the low low back, butt, groin area, thigh, back of leg, knee joints and sometimes in the foot. ALL ON THE LEFT SIDE. ANYONE OFFER ADVICE???

Goodness. My best advice would be to contact 1) your employer and 2) the insurance company handling the claim and ask them to find another doctor, not because you don't agree with her diagnosis, but because she can't find the source of the problem. When explained from the stance that it will wind up costing them more money to keep using her, they may change their tune about her.

I'm sorry to tell you this because I know it's not what you want to hear, but you will NOT find a doctor to do a hysterectomy on you at 18. The only reason a doctor would do a hysterectomy on an 18 year old is if they had cancer or something. You need to find some way to see a doctor and probably have an ultrasound done to find out what's wrong. I'm 23 and for the past year and a half I have had heavy bleeding almost constantly and severe pelvic pain. I have been through more procedures and tests than I can count and am about to have my second laparoscopy. I have been to 2 different doctors, the one I'm seeing now is a specialist. I have been on 5 different birth control pills and now the depo shot and nothing has worked. The doctors still don't know what's wrong with me. My doctor has said at some point in the future he would consider doing a hysterectomy, even though I don't have kids. Unless you have had tons of tests, procedures, and surgeries done without anything working, I highly doubt you would find a doctor to do a hysterectomy on you, especially at 18. I hope some how you are able to find a solution to your problems. Good luck!

The state has a workman's comp board or commission. They are almost always compliant with a respectful request to direct your employer to let you see another doctor. If that does not work have an "emergency" onset of numbness in your left foot and go to a large teaching hospital ER. The data that they provide and they will do a no stone unturned workup can be turned over to the commission or to your lawyer if you need to get one. There are lawyers that specialize in Workman's comp cases but they want a healthy cut. Try the local legal aid first. The lawyers that work there do it because they really want to help people out (in most cases). Do not give up - good medical care is your right if you are injured on the job. Good luck
