Brocolli has always gone down well at my dinner parties. Be careful mind, as often the least popular tends to be the least physically attractive and as we all know attractiveness equals taste. Try placing apples in the mouth and other orrifices if your planning on roasting the meal. It brings out a great flavour in the meat.

Might I recommend a blackberry crumble as a desert?

Hmmmmm... slightly worrying. Brings a whole to meaning to bringing friends around for dinner.

Rather than an accompaniment why not use a fondue set?
