A whole hell of a lot lower than NOT using a condom. Condoms are approximately 95% effective in preventing pregnancy and disease.

Actually...condoms can't protect you against everything. You can still contact some STI's from the outter genital area, that isn't covered by the condom. I'd suggest staying away from people you don't know.

Very low (less than 1%) if the condom does not break and is worn properly. it is even better if the condom has a spermicidal lubricant.

imagine the fibers of a condom being like the net in tennis--Sperm are like basket balls--can't get through unless it's broke, STDs are like pingpong balls- they could fit between the fibers.
