I'm on a low sugar, low-fat, vegan diet and I want to find a snack food that I can carry around with me, eat while working, use to replace breakfast when I'm in a hurry. I used to eat cashews, but they have too much fat. Before I was aware of my blood-sugar issues, I ate jelly beans. Popcorn is to fluffy to work for me; is there any other non-messy food that I haven't ruled out yet?

If you're not low-budget, try "Just Fruit" and/or "Just Veggies" (for info see http://www.justtomatoes.com/). Found at natural food stores and some regular grocery stores (fruit more often than veggies) - they're dried and the ingredients are literally whatever fruit/veggies they're named ("Just Strawberries, etc.) But they're not cheap.

Soy yogurt, soy cheese. But if you're doing low fat, low sugar, also consider celery and some root vegetables (like jicama, but beware of starch).

thing is ,if you're doing low fat, low sugar AND vegan, you run a serious risk of not getting enough nutrition at all. not that you have to go with high fats and sugars, I'm just saying you need to be careful.

btw, jelly beans contain gelatin. they are NOT vegan.

also, carrots and apples have high percentages of sugar. bananas have both starch and sugar.
