here is the roasted brussels sprouts recipe from their website:
1 1/2 pounds Brussels sprouts, ends trimmed and yellow leaves removed
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C).
Place trimmed Brussels sprouts, olive oil, kosher salt, and pepper in a large resealable plastic bag. Seal tightly, and shake to coat. Pour onto a baking sheet, and place on center oven rack.
Roast in the preheated oven for 30 to 45 minutes, shaking pan every 5 to 7 minutes for even browning. Reduce heat when necessary to prevent burning. Brussels sprouts should be darkest brown, almost black, when done. Adjust seasoning with kosher salt, if necessary

the only way I've ever made artichokes was in a pot. You cut the stem down all the way to the artichoke itself. Then, trim the leaves so no one pokes themselves and it's easier to grab. Plop em into a pot of boiling water and a little bit of salt, cover, and simmer the water, You'll know it's done when a fork slides easily into the bottom part where you removed the stem. Nothing fancy but, it's the only way I've done it, sorry.
Try http://www.foodnetwork.com for some recipes. They always have a great selection of recipes and users rate the recipes so you know if it's good or not! GL! =)

Are you talking about whole artichokes? You snip the stem close to the base. Remove lower tough outer leaves. With scissors, but thorny tip of each leaf. Take the whole artichoke and place into boiling water with salted garlic. Slow boil for about 45 minutes until tender. Stick a fork into the bottom to see if it is soft, and you will know if it is cooked thoroughly. Serve with melted butter in a small bowl. They are wonderful!
Brussels Sprouts: Cut off stem end. Soak in cold water for about 15 minutes. Cook in boiling water for 10 to 20 minutes until tender with a fork. Drain and serve with butter, salt and pepper.

to cook an artichoke, wash first, trim the points off the tops of the leaves, and trim the bottoms. you can get creative and try to scrape the fuzzy middle out before you cook them(this shortens the cooking time by about 1/2, but too time consuming for me.) use a rack or artichoke holder-nifty little things that the artichoke sits in, fill pot with water up to bottom of chokes(about 2") bring to boil, cover, lower heat to about medium, cook for about 55 minutes. i like them with mayonnaise.
brussels sprouts, bring to boil, cover, lower heat, steam for 5 minutes. hope this helps
