Grapefruit juice. Has vitamin C, tastes nasty like medicine. Don't get the pink stuff; it's too sweet.

Vitamin C pills in scary-high doses (actually, that probably should be monitored by a professional, even though I don't follow my own advice in that regard).

Garlic

Chicken soup

Echinacea (echinacea made my tongue buzz, so be careful with it).

Peppermint: clears sinuses

(editing now) However, the poster before me is quite correct. Especially as you have bronchial asthma, you should define "quick" as "two or three days max" and not mess around with this longer than that.

Chicken soup is the Jewish mom's penicillin so, I recommend that highly. Stay in, rest, drink plenty of liquids and hot ones too. Take zinc lozenges and whatever over the counter remedy you are able to take. Keep warm, don't get wet. Use a humidifier if you have one and make sure it's clean. If you don't have one put a big pot on the stove and put some cloves, ginger and whatever spices you like in it and let it barely simmer a few times each day to get moisture in the air. Hot tea and honey is soothing. Hope u feel better very soon.

The fine rapid residence comfort healing for a sore throat is to gargle with hot salt water six instances an afternoon (a million tablespoon of salt in a sixteen ounce glass of hot water). Don't use mouthwash to gargle for the reason that the mouthwash will kill ALL the micro organism on your throat, and a few of it's rewarding. The fine sore throat drops I have located are Luden's, however I understand plenty of persons who swear by way of Ricola. To unplug a stuffy nostril, probably the most powerful comfort I have located is Spicy Thai Fried Rice from my neighborhood Thai eating place. Actually, any form of highly spiced meals might paintings, and you do not have got to consume plenty of it. Saline spray is well, however for me it really works approximately forty% to 50% of the time.

You know what they say... without treatment a cold usually lasts three days. If treated with this or that remedy, it will be gone in 72 hours... Anyway, jokes aside, I like a cup of hot water with a couple tablespoons of lemon juice in it, and steep some rosemary leaves in it. Add some honey so it's not so sour. Drink as much as you like, the steam will help clear your nose, it's got lots of vitamin C, and do what your mother says - get lots of rest and drink plenty of fluids!

Be careful! I had that and procrastinated going to the doctor. After 3 weeks of not being able to breathe, I finally went. Had to get a B12 shot, antibiotics, inhaler, and cough syrup. It will not heal itself. If you don't have insurance, do like I did and go to a clinic. You really need prescriptions.

Jack Daniels and a hot bath, as hot as you can stand it! It will work. Don't drink the whole thing, just take a big swig and get in the tub. good luck.

get a half-pint of seagram's extra dry gin, take a drink or pour a little bit out of it and crush about 10 peppermints in there and squeeze half a lemon in there. shake it up really good and take a big drink about every 2-4 hrs. makes you feel better i promise. won't get you drunk unless you can't handle your liquor.
