Just very curious as to what it is about grapefruit juice that they put a warning on the bottle. I have taken this medicine for a year and a half and have never seen this warning before. Should I not drink grapefruit juice at all ? Or just not drink it to wash down my meds?

Initially I thought the "grapefruit warning "was because of the acidity of the juice,,,,just recently read the juice actually makes the med stronger (i was really surprised) but it's what I read in the past few weeks. I take a lot of meds and my hubby takes the lipitor so thought I would look into the odd assorted warnings a little more.

If I were you, avoid all Grapefruit products in any form. Please read the Labels, because some DO have Grapefruit in it among other Citrus fruit Juices. I learned after drinking some for a couple of days and felt very funny. Some People have a very BAD reaction to Grapefruit while on certain Medications.

the grapefruit reacts with lots of medication and usually causes the medication to not be effective. The same warning is on the pill bottle for Buspar which I take. It's not saying grapefruit will kill you, but it makes the medication not work like it's supposed too. So you should avoid drinking while on the medication

Grapefruit juice interacts with many medicines. It has something to do with the acid content. I stopped drinking it or eating grapefruit for that reason.

When you get your RX from the pharmacy does it come with an info sheet. All my meds come with info sheets even the stuff that's not medication (I'm also a diabetic and I get medical info sheets with my needles) You should read that info if you get one. Grapefruit in general will react with that medication as well as many others, it will just reduce its potency.
