Being a Diabetic myself, I have to say, yes, 221 is too high. Though if that is lower than the person was getting two weeks ago, it's a good sign. If you're regularly having problems with the blood glucose being that high, regardless of what you're eating, and it's a new development, go back to your doctor and see if medication (or a different type) is going to be better for you.

Yes, that is very high. You need to have a fasting blood glucose test to see if you are diabetic. That high a number is definately not normal. I work at a dr office and we see about 80 percent diabetics and you could be harming your body by letting your sugar go on like that. Please check with your family doctor immediately.

normal post meal glucose levels should be between 80 and 120. Most health care providers recommend some type of diabetic medicine for glucose levels over 180.

This is a short Q that requires alot more info..fast BG levels are different from post prandial (just ate). Chronic diabetics tend to have higher BG levels even when on meds than those with a new diagnosis and before you flip out..one BG level does not diagnose diabetes. More testing is needed for that. Sooo if you are not currently diabetic but just worried that you ate too much, yes it's a bit high..but I have seen diabetics 300-400 so don't panic but talk to your doctor.

Is that a fasting BGL or did you just eat a load of sugar? Are you a known diabetic or what? To first answer, if I picked up a person in my ambulance with a BGL of 65 my orders would be to give glucose, that reading is too low.
