Well, it's certainly more American than my mum's rhubarb crumble.

no longer something might want to probable be extra American than mom's Apple Pie. it is accurate up there with the flag, the freedom Bell, the Bald Eagle... in difficulty-free words it tastes extra constructive. I truly can't imagine of celebrating a nationwide vacation without eating apple pie.

Apparently apple pie was about 100 years before the American's took it to their hearts - so really not an American invention.

Apple pie has been around a bit longer than the US...I don't think that sensible Americans actually think they invented it (or do they?)...
"As American as apple pie" - it's just a saying.

I lived in Germany and traveled thru a lot of countries, and not once did I ever see a fruit pie, as we know it in the US. So, I would have to say it's an American item. ( By the way, all the other baked goods in Europe are simply delicious!)

Apple pies can be traced back to English cook books dating 1381, so they are most definitely English not American.
I guess Apple pie is just another thing that Americans have taken from us, claimed for their own and then ruined (just like our language)!!

Have you met Mom? She's pretty American.
So, I guess if she's American, her pie would have to be American, too.

America adopted it. Pizza and Hamburgers aren't technically American food either, but we adopted it and made it part of our unique culture. That is why it is consided American.
