I have 2 teenage step children, both diagnosed with type I diabetes at the age of 6. They are now 19 and 17. I have a 2 year old daughter who has been urinating frequently (today only) so I tested her blood sugar with the meter the kids keep here at my house (yea, I changed the lancet). Her glucose was 182! I called the pediatrician and he wants a fasting number in the morning BUT I can't sleep!!!! I am so worried and really wonder if anyone can please share ANY info so I can sleep tonight!!! My husband is in the hospital having back surgery so I can't talk to him....can this number be high because of stress???? I just want my ENTIRE family to be healthy....sorry I'm rambling!

182 COULD be high but then it depends on a lot of things. First, how long had it been since you ate or drank anything? Everyone's glucose levels can be elevated after eating or drinking. Second, glucose meters are not entirely accurate, they can be off by as much as 20% and is why they're not good diagnostic tools. Third, worst case scenario, she does have diabetes but have caught it early. Treatment is so much better these days and your daughter and step children will more than likely live long lives. Diabetes is not a death sentence and people live healthy, active lives every day. There are even athletes who have type 1 diabetes. I know it's overwhelmingly to think that she may be diabetic but it will be okay! I'm assuming that your step children are her half siblings? Ask to have more than just a fasting glucose reading. If she's in the early stages...and with a 182 glucose level, even if high, she is...a fasting glucose test may be normal. Have them do antibody tests. Type 1 is an autoimmune disease where the bodies own immune system attacks itself. It leaves antibodies behind and that can be checked. I think you should have checked YOUR glucose level! Talk about being stressed! Let us know how it turns out. I don't think anyone is going to be able to say anything that is going to help you rest tonight, but try. God Bless.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Think positive.

Does she have any other symptoms like itchy skin, blurred vision, weight loss, thirst, cuts that won't heal?

These are just a few of the other symptoms. If none of these are present then maybe it is just stress.

Try not to worry too much because kids can pick up on these things.

Just PRAY and leave it in the hands of the Lord.

Good Luck

I am a Type I and have two children. I spent one sleepless night after I tested my daughter one night after dinner and she had a glucose of about 179.

The pediatrician explained to me over the phone that kids can run high, especially, if, as I had done, they were tested within 2 hours or so of eating. I took her fasting number the next morning, and it was normal. 2 years later, she shows no signs of the disease (thank heaven).

Good luck to you - I have been where you are and hope you have a happy result.

Please, don't worry. She won't die overnight from high blood sugar. Get the fasting number in the morning, and call the pediatrician back. It could be she was just eating cakes and drinking tea. Don't worry yourself to death, as you know, it is treatable, een if she does have it. And she probably doesn't. Go to sleep, she will still be there in the morning.
