At first it can be difficult to make such a drastic lifestyle change so you have to be very committed to vegetarianism. Although there are some people who incorporate vegetarian meals every now and then. For me it was a personal choice and I've had to explain to people numerous times that yes vegetarians consider chicken an animal and things like that. Nowdays it isn't very hard to become a vegetarian because there are so many meal options to choose from.

i started when i was very young and never really cared for meat anyway...its a very healthy choice ..these days meat can not be trusted .. and a lot of sickness' are from eating meat. i didnt choose to be a vegetarian but i never really crave meat. All i can say is that ppl may say that you dont get enough protein and iron unless you eat meat but thats not true ..there are grains beans nuts milk ...all kinds of foods that have all the things you need for ur body to stay strong. most ppl think vegetarians only eat vegetables..not true you can make soooo many delicious vegetarian dishes that taste great!

I never did like meat as a kid. I always picked the fat off sausage and bacon. It always upset my stomach. I started working for a couple that was veg and I decided I would try it. It was hard the first couple of weeks. I wanted chicken really bad. Eventually tho, the craving went away. I totally dont miss it. I think meat is gross. I think I am healthier for not eating it. It has been 11 years now since I have touched the stuff.

For some people it can be hard.
For me.... not eating meat wasnt really hard... because every time I chose not to i just felt good knowing I was preventing an animal pain.
The only thing I found hard is holidays or when you go out with friends or family who are not vegetarian.... everyones eating meat .. and theres not very many vegetarain options. But its still worth it

it can be a hard task becoming a vegetarian. especially if the rest of the people in your home and surroundings still eat meat. however it is getting increasingly easier to eat in and out with most meats having a vegetarian substitute and most restaurants offering a wide range of vegetarian foods and generally at a cheaper price!! It was my choice to become a vegetarian and i made that choice when i was 8!! the rest of my immediate family still eats meat but my mother was very supportive. it is also very simple. as she wouldnt cook me a seperate meal as such but the same as what they are having with just the vegetarian meat substitute. which also is very good for you as they are usualy made out of a vegetable protien. Good luck

If your doing it for reasons that make sense to you then it's one of the most effortless things you can do. Get a veggie cookbook and find at lest 5-7 recipes you like in their that you are comfortable making before you make the switch.
The vegetarian starter kit on www.pcrm.org explains this very well.
If you have more questions, or more specific ones just send me an e-mail: saslowend4s@yahoo.com.
Good Luck!

I chose it. My dad hates it because he is ignorant. But that's just too darn bad. It was not hard at all. I am the only healthy one in my family. My mom and brother are obese and my dad gets sick a lot. My dad thought I was really sick because I was a vegetarian, but my blood tests were "excellent" as my doctor said. My dad had to see for himself because he just couldn't believe it. He'll always say we weren't meant to be herbivores and it isn't healthy not to eat meat because as I said earlier, he is ignorant. You'd think someone in the medical field would know better. Trust me, it's worth it. I highly recommend becoming one. It's much healthier if done right, and won't you sleep better at night knowing you aren't supporting the cruel slaughter houses? I became one for moral reasons. I know I'll hear even more crap from my dad than usual because Thanksgiving is coming up. Great. â¥

It wasn't hard for me at all and that was 9 years ago and I am still a vegetarian. I chose to become vegatarian after my last child was born. I felt bad eating meat and always asked myself, what gives me the right to take a life.

As a child I never liked meat so as soon as I was able I
eliminated it from my diet.
It was really easy. To start with I cooked the meals I was
used to, but I left the meat out or found a vegetarian substitute.

I chose it because of animal rights so ever time I wanted to eat meat I remember why I wasn't so it is easy for me. Also, there are a ton of vegetarian cookbooks and vegetarian frozen foods now so it is easy and yummy! Good luck!
